A High Quality Program for Young Children
- Limited Group Size
- Group size and ratio of teachers to children is limited to enable age appropriate programs.
-
- Well Trained Professionals
- Teaching degrees in early childhood education with many years of experience working with young children. Teachers plan and implement a coherent curriculum to help children achieve important developmental and learning goals. All staff are first aid and CPR certified.
-
- A Safe and Healthy Environment
- Children have daily opportunity to use large muscles either outdoors in our fenced playground or in our indoor gym.
-
- Curriculum Goals
- Teachers work continually in partnership with parents and the community to build a mutual understanding and to provide greater consistency for the children.
|
Mission Statement
- We are an outreach ministry of the First Presbyterian Church and dedicated to providing for the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual growth of the young children in a Christ-centered environment.
-
- We believe that each child is made in the image of
God, and follow Jesus' teachings of acceptance and
unconditional love. Therefore, our center is committed to
serving all the children of the community.
-
Goals and Philosophy
- First Presbyterian Child Development Center seeks to
encourage children developmentally within a planned,
stimulating environment which encourages, expands and
enriches their lives. Our goal is to help each individual
child learn:
-
- to live peacefully with one another
- to share time, space, friends
- to fulfill developmental-educational milestones
- to develop a positive self-concept and respect the
rights of others
- to foster independence/autonomy, to become critical
