They’re back!! Come and bring your friends to see RESCUE, is a fantastic award-winning Christian a cappella men’s vocal quartet that was formed in 1997 and is attracting listeners of all ages to the Gospel with its fresh and exciting sound. RESCUE brings listeners into an entertaining yet worshipful atmosphere. The group’s musical influences include the well-known men’s a cappella groups Take 6, Rockapella, and Acappella. With the doors that the Lord is continuing to open, RESCUE is taking their music to every corner of the globe. Tickets for the 7 p.m. Saturday, November 3, concert are available from the church office for a suggested donation of $10 each. Carols and Lullabies: A Christmas Vespers Service

A free-will offering be will received. No tickets required!

Conrad Susa’s Carols and Lullabies (Christmas in the Southwest), accompanied by harp, guitar, and marimba, will be the major work presented by the First Presbyterian Church of Salem Chancel Choir. The Chancel Choir will also present portions of Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols with harp. As always, the nationally televised Youth Chorale (middle-school to college-age), Seraphim Choir (grades 4-6), and the Canterbury Bell Choir of First Pres. Salem will play and sing combined pieces in this service that has become a wonderful Christmas tradition in the Salem area over the past decades. No tickets required! This internationally acclaimed Trio made up of professors from Portland State University have travelled the world playing great chamber music. Come see them in their own backyard and see why they are considered one of Oregon’s cultural treasures! The Florestan Trio, in its 30th season, has received international acclaim for its brilliant and dynamic playing. Since joining the faculty of Portland State University in 1977 as Artists-in-Residence, the Trio has concertized throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan, where their playing was described as "...positively overflowing with life and energy." In addition to their chamber music performances, the members of the Florestan Trio are heard frequently as soloists with orchestras and in recital around the world. The Florestan Trio has received two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. The first produced concerts by the Trio which were broadcast nationally in the United States on PBS-TV stations. The second grant provided for the commission of a new trio by American composer Tomas Svoboda. The Florestan Trio has also been featured on National Public Radio's "Performance Today." Celebrating its 17th year, Bells of the Cascades (BOC) is a community handbell choir from the greater Portland and Salem areas in Oregon that is considered one of the premiere handbell choirs in the Northwest. From its beginning in 1990 with a group of directors and advanced ringers, BOC’s mission has been to promote the art of handbell ringing through performance and education. Pioneers in the community bell choir movement, BOC has performed as a featured choir at the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers Western National Conference, the Directors' Seminar in Spokane, and several local conferences and community events throughout Western Oregon and Southern Washington. In the fall of 1997, Nancy Hascall was named director of BOC following the original director Dick Coulter's retirement. A free-will offering will be received. Ticket prices are as follows:

The Total Experience Gospel Choir

The Total Experience Gospel Choir

The Total Experience Gospel Choir bursts with love, joy and enthusiasm - humanity! With members from age 6 to 65, it is hailed as one of the Pacific Northwest's finest soulful ensembles. Pastor Pat Wright started the group as a gospel music class at Seattle's Franklin Roosevelt High School in 1973. Since then the choir has grown to become a nationally and internationally known gospel singing group that has travelled to 38 states in the U.S., five continents, and 22 countries. They have performed on the same billing with the late Dr. James Cleveland, founder of the 60,000 strong Gospel Music Workshop of America, Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, the Hawkins Family of “Oh Happy Day” fame, Take Six, Winans, Sweet Honey in the Rock, The Judds, Charlie Daniel, Pete Seeger, Steely Dan, and many others. Pastor Pat Wright was named ABC News World News Tonight "Person of the Week" in May 2007 because she, along with Total Experience Gospel Choir, had travelled to Mississippi and New Orleans several times and dedicated many, many hours for hurricane relief in the Gulf Coast areas since August 2005 when hurricane Katrina hit. Tickets are $10 suggested donation. A free-will offering will also be taken to further Hurricana Katrina relief.
